Nice to Meet you!
Hey! I’m Paige, an author and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, CA. I earned my undergrad degree from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, then promptly got my J.D. at Northwestern, in Chicago, THEN even more promptly (like before I graduated) realized I didn’t want to be a lawyer.
So I moved back to the west coast, got a job in development, and while I spent my days helping others make their stories come to life, I spent all my spare time putting fingers to keys to make my own dreams come true.
Since then, I’ve written multiple novels, feature screenplays, pilots, and made a short form series. My novels have won accolades from SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators), my original features have been recognized by the Austin Film Festival, and I was hired to write a comedy feature (Wing Dad) that filmed in Big Bear at the end of 2020.
Storytelling is how I make sense of the world. In my films, I soothe my anxiety by turning it into comedy (I’m Jewish, it’s how we cope!) and through my books, I tell my younger self that I’m stronger, smarter, and more resilient than I thought I ever was.
And by using those personal experiences as fodder - remembering how I felt, wondering what I’d do differently, and writing what I wish I’d said at the time - I aim to make content that everyone can relate to, laugh at, and find solace in.
Fun Facts:
I was a contestant on the Jeopardy! Teen Tournament in 2001, the last year Alex Trebek had a mustache.
I make the world’s best oatmeal raisin cookies, thanks to my grandma’s secret family recipe; a recipe that major cookie companies have tried (and failed) to buy.
Speaking of oatmeal raisin cookies… in April 2017, I created, produced and publicized a storytelling show and fundraiser benefiting Planned Parenthood and Committee to Protect Journalists. In one night, we raised over $1000.
The people who chose to share their stories included singers, comedians, a poet, a sword dancer, a burlesque artist, and…me. I wrote and told an autobiographical story. It’s about my grandparents, those famous oatmeal raisin cookies, and why I believe in ghosts. You can check it out at the bottom of the page!
Jeopardy! isn’t the only game show I’ve been on. At the beginning of 2020, when the Coronavirus pandemic was still fresh, I was selected to be a contestant for a fun “find the fake screenwriting advice” game on the Scriptnotes Podcast, hosted by John August and Craig Mazin. Take a look at the bottom of the page to see me playing with Ryan Reynolds, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and, of course, John and Craig.
